What is keyed alike?
Keyed alike is the term used to describe multiple locks having the same cut so that one key can fit all the locks.
Having your locks keyed alike is the most convenient way to handle and manage all your keys. This means you won’t have to think about which key is for which door and choose from all the dangling keys on your keychain. Keep that keychain nice and tidy.
The most common locks to key alike are the front door, back door, side door, and garage door. However, it is also possible to key alike the rest of the locks in your home as long as they are within the same brand.
Please note: Our keyed alike options are only applicable for door hardware within the same brand. We are unable to key alike different brands from one another.
As this is a custom process, please allow an additional 5-10 business days for the supplier to cut your locks and keys. When ordering multiple locks, you will only need to select the ‘Locks Keyed Alike’ option on one of the products and select the quantity of locks. You will not have to pay multiple times.

What is keyed to differ?
Keyed to differ means each lock has its own unique key. You won’t be able to use the same key to open multiple locks. This option is most commonly used for a sense of extra security, knowing if you lose one key you will only need to replace one lock. This is also common for Airbnb’s and holiday homes, so you can choose what rooms your guests have access to.
Can you key alike my current door handles to the new ones I buy from you?
Unfortunately, we do not offer this service at this time. We currently offer this service for all new door handles or hardware purchased in one transaction.
Is there a safer option?
Whilst both options are safe, unique keys for each lock is seen as the safer option.
I’ve already purchased my door handles, can you still key them alike?
Unfortunately, we are only able to process orders for keying alike on the same transaction as our Key Alike options.
Do I need to order an extra key?
Every lock you purchase comes with two keys. If you are buying two, three or four locks that you want keyed alike you will get 4, 6 or 8 keys. So most likely you will not require an extra key.
