Create an Industrial Style Home

One thing’s for sure, Industrial look homes have become extremely popular over the last few years and it's clear that the trend isn’t going anywhere. An industrial style home is easily recognised by the use of exposed pipes, beautifully exposed brick and the combination of materials that include various woods and metals.

You don’t need to live in a converted warehouse or old factory to steal some industrial style.

Do you need some help looking for industrial interior design ideas? We’ve done all the hard work for you! Have a read through our modern, industrial home ideas below and scroll through our curated collection. You can thank us later!

How to achieve the industrial look:

  • Make a feature of raw materials and textures, such as concrete, timber and metal
  • Exposed beams, brickwork or pipework can add wow factor
  • Use neutral paint tones in any shade from white to black
  • This style is best suited to larger spaces, especially with high ceilings
  • Keep it simple, minimal and clutter-free
  • Black tapware is a great way to modernise the industrial look
  • Introduce industrial-inspired lighting - think caged sconces or caged pendants

Traps to avoid:

  • Overdoing timber – a little goes a long way
  • Worn features like rusted metal – “modern” industrial is clean and feels new
  • Trite features like cogs – it should feel like you’re actually in a warehouse or factory space
  • Don’t include any delicate fixtures, fittings or fussy details
  • Light or pastel hues aren’t welcome!
