What was the inspiration behind this bathroom renovation?
For this bathroom, our client was very keen to incorporate a soft blue into the space to create a relaxed coastal feel. This pretty blue tile that we have used for the shower wall set the tone for all our other finishes within the bathroom. We love bringing texture into a bathroom space, and here we did so by utilising the ADP Clifton Vanity, as the soft wood tones were perfect for our coastal look and feel. It has a gorgeous ribbed front giving us that layer of texture that we like while pairing beautifully with our semi-exterior VJ panelling that you see on the main wall behind the vanity. We also added pops of subtle texture with our wall sconces.
For this particular bathroom, we were a little savvy to save on some costs for our client. Where possible (outside of the shower space of course), we tiled or VJ sheeted over the top of existing wall tiles. This cost-saving allowed us to be able to incorporate the skylight that you see, bringing in amazing light to the whole bathroom. The Phoenix Brushed Gold Tapware was also such an important aspect of the look and feel, bringing in those soft golds against the blues and whites was a winning formula for us.

What Blue Space products do you love & why?
The Blue Space is a one-stop shop for us which we absolutely love. Being able to source everything from one supplier is quite honestly phenomenal in these crazy building times. Between the myriad of hurdles these past 18 months or so - ranging from Covid, floods, and supply chain delays right through to trade delays - it has been peace of mind for us knowing that we can source an entire home renovation of fixtures & fittings through one supplier. The turnaround time has always been fantastic and the team at The Blue Space keep us up to speed with full tracking details.
We love the ready-made vanity range as they are a great cost saver and also offer wonderful built-in features within the drawers. It also saves a lot of time waiting for a custom vanity to be made up. Their range of mirrored wall cabinets is also great, as we are always looking to capitalise on extra storage in any bathroom reno we do and these help tick that box.

What are your top tips for readers who would love to re-create or are now inspired to renovate their homes?
- Along with the world, the building market has definitely seen a few changes these past couple of years. I would say creating great curb appeal is still high on my list of how to add instant value to your home. Things can be as simple as changing up your front door, adding a fresh coat of paint, perhaps a new letter box and tidying up/adding some fresh plants.
- Updating your kitchen or bathroom is always high on my reno suggestion as these are the most utilised spaces within your home - so well worth the investment in my opinion. The Front Porch Properties aesthetic is fairly classic, fresh and timeless, so I always try and steer my clients in this direction so they get longevity from their investment.
- I am also seeing a lot of shift towards extended family living/granny flat/Air BnB additions. A lot of homes that I see have great potential for reutilising unused spaces within their existing home, or they have an under-utilised backyard that can easily be converted to an income-generating space.
