Interior Designer, Naomi Findlay takes us on a journey through her latest project.
Branxton Bank x The Blue Space
Branxton Bank
"For this project, I adhered to a distinct style and colour palette, influenced by compelling elements. The chosen design aesthetic and the functionality of the spaces were pivotal considerations. Additionally, I emphasised respect and attentiveness to the heritage nature of the project." - Naomi Findlay, Interior Designer
About Branxton Bank
The Branxton Bank is an early 1900's double brick cavity, heritage listed building located in the Hunter Valley of NSW.
This used to be a commercial bank with an amazing residence at the back for the Bank Manager and his family, all set on a huge 1200sqm block.
Naomi Findlay and her team renovated this beautiful venue to its former glory.
The Branxton Bank Bathroom
I used the Phoenix Cromford Collection, because of their quality longevity and style. They are a brave brand when it comes to innovation, style, design and form.
I wanted to think about what my hero was for the bathroom. As I wanted to reinstate that beautiful old feel - choosing a design style that paid respect to this beautiful old building was key.
Statement Pieces
The Cromford twin shower set in brushed gold was the trophy piece for me. It sets the tone for the whole bathroom space. I was able to support it with beautiful matching accessories and subway tiles laid in different formats.
When I was selecting tiles, I was heavily guided by functionality, colour palette, and an omage to what was the quintessential bank look and feel.
The Branxton Bank Kitchen
"When approaching the kitchen design, the sink and tap are one of the essential items, and I love to cook. Every amazing space needs a bit of bling,so i chose the Cromford Exposed Sink Set in Brushed Gold. The exposed nature of the mixers and connectng pipes, really set the tone for a bespoke and traditional feel"
Traditional Tiles
When people walk into this space, they comment on the 'original tiles'. I love that they think they are original, it means they belong here.
"I chose the Alicante Eton Matt Cushioned Edge Porcelain Tile, a cushioned ceramic tile with an older look to it and it has a striking impact the minute you walk into the space."
